PROGRAMS + SERVICES
Los Angeles will host Olympic rugby at LA28 — and Rugby LA is on a mission to make sure every young person in the region has a chance to discover the sport before the world arrives.
We deliver structured, play-based, non-contact flag rugby directly to elementary, middle and high school age programs across Southern California, led by USA Rugby certified coaches who make every session safe, engaging, and worth coming back for.

Rugby LA Residency is our flagship after-school program — bringing a certified coach on-site each week for a full season of play-based, non-contact flag rugby, at no cost to youth or their families.

All-Star Rugby is Rugby LA's flagship partnership with After-School All-Stars Los Angeles — combining direct service and coach training into one program, our largest partnership to date. As Rugby LA prepares for the LA28 Olympics, we're excited to bring All-Star Rugby to After-School All-Stars chapters nationwide.

Tournaments are a cornerstone of Rugby LA's model — bringing youth together from different neighborhoods for friendly, intramural competition. Rugby LA hosts tournaments throughout the year, including the flagship Fall Classic and Spring Rugby LA Cup, open to all sites, as well as smaller regional tournaments for sites closer to home. All participants receive a jersey and medal.

We implement single-day clinics at schools, youth service provider locations, and parks & recreation programs across Southern California. Over a fun, fast-paced session, our certified coaches introduce the basics of flag rugby through a series of games guaranteed to keep everyone moving. Clinics run 1–2 hours and can accommodate any size group.
New for 26–27: want to add a unique component to your special event? Rugby LA can bring our one-hour session to your community/school fair, birthday party, or family-day corporate event.
Our gold-standard certification prepares coaches to lead flag rugby programs grounded in positive youth development. This e-learning and in-person course provides 20 hours of in-depth training on topics below, and must be completed to coach our Direct Services.

Train the Trainer equips your staff to run flag rugby year-round — hands-on professional development where you learn by doing, not by lecture. Hosted sessions run in LA, Orange, and Ventura Counties, with custom trainings available anywhere in California.
The First Try Initiative is Rugby LA's grant-funded program pairing technical assistance with direct service to build sustainable, year-round flag rugby across LA, Orange, and Ventura Counties.
Bring flag rugby into your PE curriculum. Rugby LA's in-classroom training equips PE teachers to deliver a 4–5 session flag rugby unit aligned to PE standards — no afterschool commitment, no tournament required.
Need to refresh your gear? Rugby LA can assist with the purchase of quality balls, flags, or other equipment needed to run your activities.
