After-school programs are facing budgetary cuts that limit the amount of enrichment programming they can fund. Meanwhile, 1 in 3 kids has no access to affordable team sports at all. Whether it's funding a session or a full year of flag rugby, every rugby ball we put in a kid's hands is a bet against those odds — and it's a bet that pays off.
Here are the different ways your sponsorship supports youth across Southern California.
These amounts reflect direct program costs covered by donor and partner gifts. District and organizational contracts are priced separately.
$400Everything it takes to get one coach certified and on the pitch: USA Rugby training and certification, U.S. Center for SafeSport clearance, background check, and Live Scan.
Coach Jose Miguel Flores is a native of East Los Angeles, where his family owns and operates Cemitas Poblanas restaurant. His entry into rugby was through the Los Angeles Rebellion in 2022, where he quickly became one of the club's star rookies, and he now serves on the Rebellion Board. In 2024, he joined Rugby LA's coaching roster. "I had never coached kids before, but felt compelled to 'play it forward' right where I grew up. This coaching position has helped fund my continued education and my participation in the 2024 and 2026 IGR Bingham Cups."

$100A single-day clinic for a school, youth program, or park site, including certified coach pay, equipment, and permits where needed. Clinics run one to two hours and can accommodate any size group.
Since 2024, Rugby LA has been proud to implement our single-session clinic as part of the YMCA's annual Girls Empowerment Day, held on the campus of USC. Across three years, more than 100 girls ages 13–17 have been introduced to flag rugby.

$1,000+All program and operational costs to implement a full season — eight sessions and a tournament — for one afterschool site, including coach pay, equipment, jerseys and medals, insurance, accounting, and tournament logistics.
The winner of the 4th annual Rugby LA Cup, Suva Intermediate School in Bell Gardens, CA has been participating in our All-Star Rugby partnership with After-School All-Stars since our inception. To date, we have served 162 middle school youth at this location.

$250One equipment kit: a branded equipment bag, four rugby balls, twenty cones, 24 flags, an air pump, and a whistle.
In 2023, as part of an annual gift from the Maurice Marciano Foundation, we presented four equipment kits to the Sheriff's Youth Foundation, for Youth Activity League flag rugby squads in Compton, Norwalk, Lakewood, and South Los Angeles.

Sponsoring a program should be simple. Here's what happens after you give.
We direct your sponsorship to programs facing the greatest funding gaps — whether that's a single clinic, a full eight-week season, or equipment for a school that has none.
While the season is underway, you'll get photos and stories from the sites your gift supports — the real version, not a stock photo.
At the end of the season, we report back with participation numbers, photos, and what the kids actually took away from it.
Sponsorships of $1,000 or more receive a personalized impact report.
We can share the regions currently most in need of support, but actual site selection is handled by our partner organizations.
At most locations, guests aren't permitted at sessions held on school or private grounds, for child safety reasons. We're always happy to arrange a visit at one of our tournaments or at a program held on public property.
